A hair transplant is a surgical procedure that moves hair follicles from a donor site to a balding area. Two primary methods are FUSS and FUE. FUSS involves removing a strip of skin from the donor area and dissecting it into follicular units for transplantation, while FUE directly extracts individual follicular units using a punch tool. Using modern techniques, our skilled plastic surgeon restores your confidence along with your hair.
FUSS involves transferring hair from the back of the scalp to areas with thinning or balding hair. During the procedure, recipient sites are created in the patient’s scalp, and the follicular units are inserted to encourage new hair growth. In contrast, FUE extracts individual follicular units one by one from the donor area and transplants them into the balding regions. FUE leaves minimal scars and is suitable for those who prefer short hair.
After the procedure, patients may experience redness, swelling, and tenderness in both donor and recipient sites for a few weeks. Transplanted hair falls out initially but regrows within months. Full results take about a year. We will apply local anaesthetic prior to your procedure, so while there may be a tiny amount of pain from those initial injections, it is unlikely you will feel anything other than mild discomfort from that point onwards.
Similarly, there may be some mild irritation after the surgery but this will clear up very quickly thanks to the saline spray we provide and our aftercare pack.

At the back of your neck where the donor follicles are harvested, there will be some tiny scratches that may leave minimal scarring.
These scratches are less than 1mm in diameter and it is very unlikely this scarring will be noticeable.
There are no other side effects and hair transplants are very non-invasive.
Most of our procedures take place over a single day, meaning you can get back to your daily life as soon as possible.

This is a normal occurrence and an important part of the procedure.
The transplants hair moult because they have been disturbed. The follicle and stem cells remain under the skin and will regrow health new hair in due course.
At around 2-4 months post-op your the transplanted hair will begin to push through the skin, quite fine at first.
This will happen at different times and at different speeds causing a patchy start. In 12 months you can expect a full regrowth of your transplanted hair.
We advise avoiding swimming for 14 days after your procedure.
Most swimming pools contain chlorine which should not come into contact with broken skin or healing wounds.
Even pools without chlorine can pose an infection risk to your healing scalp.
Once 2 weeks have passed and your scalp has fully healed, this is no longer an issue.
