Smile correction Botox is a safe procedure that uses botulinum toxin type A (Botox) to relax the muscles that control the upper lip. The procedure typically takes 15–30 minutes to complete. The patient is first numbed with a topical anaesthetic. Then, a very small needle is used to inject Botox into two specific muscles on each side of the nose. The results of this procedure typically become visible within 3-7 days and last for 3-4 months.
