Aishwarya Mohanraj’s Weight Gain And Health Challenges

Aishwarya shared that she was naturally thin during childhood and early adulthood. At the beginning of 2021, she weighed around 51 kg. However, in her late twenties, particularly around the time of her relationship and marriage, she began gaining weight. By the time of

Additionally, the medication slows down gastric emptying, meaning food remains in the stomach longer. This prolongs satiety after meals and reduces post-meal blood sugar spikes.

Who Should Avoid Mounjaro?

1. History of Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma (MTC)

People with a personal or family history of MTC should not use Mounjaro. Animal studies have shown an increased risk of thyroid C-cell tumors.

Individuals with MEN 2, a genetic condition linked to endocrine tumors, are advised against using this drug.

3. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Animal studies have indicated potential risks to the fetus, including skeletal abnormalities. It is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

4. History of Pancreatitis or Severe Gastrointestinal Disorders

Since the drug slows gastric emptying, it may worsen conditions such as:

• Gastroparesis
• Inflammatory bowel disease
• Previous episodes of acute pancreatitis

5. Type 1 Diabetes

Mounjaro is not approved for type 1 diabetes and may increase the risk of hypoglycemia if combined with insulin therapy.

6. Severe Kidney Impairment

Gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea can lead to dehydration, which may pose risks for individuals with kidney disease.

7. Diabetic Retinopathy

Rapid blood sugar improvements may temporarily worsen diabetic retinopathy, so careful monitoring is necessary.
